The Branford Boase Award 2022 longlist

I am completely thrilled and amazed to have been longlisted for the Branford Boase Award 2022, alongside my amazing Chicken House editor Kesia Lupo.

The Branford Boase Award is a well-respected and long-running prize for the most promising first-time authors and their editors, highlighting excellence in writing and publishing for children.

The Peculiar Tale of the Tentacle Boy would not be where it is today without Kesia’s incredible talent, heart and expert guidance. I’m absolutely thrilled that our partnership has been recognised, and for an award that truly values the editor’s involvement. I’ll be raising a glass to both of us this evening. . .

Also, a huge congratulations to all of the other longlisted authors and editors! I can’t wait to see which of these amazing novels will go on to make the shortlist and, eventually, win the grand prize.
